Our Mission and Values

Qualife is a private practice that provides ABA therapy to families of children with behavior challenges, autism, and other developmental delays. Maintaining small caseloads ensure that your family is accessing exceptional, personalized services. We are passionate about creating sustainable change for your family.

Our mission is: To empower families and individuals to embrace change and move towards their best quality of life.

Our behavioral services focus on improving and expanding a variety of aspects of daily life. Qualife focuses on parent/caregiver training in order to achieve enduring outcomes for our clients and their support networks. This emphasis on your child’s support system creates a tremendously valuable package of services that can transform families. We empower your family to support progress all day during everyday interactions.

Qualife serves the whole individual, including their families and caregivers with the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and progress. We recognize and honor the good in everyone, valuing empathy and collaboration while bringing a human touch to the science of behavior. We utilize positive behavior strategies and warmly care for each of the families we serve without judgement. We walk alongside you on your journey and collaborate with you as a complex, multifaceted family.

Who do we serve?

In our opinion, families, whatever they may look like, form our most important relationships. Working together with you to improve your family’s quality of life is our passion. Our staff has worked with a variety of individuals, with and without diagnoses. Some of the diagnoses we have had experience with are:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • General Behavioral Issues for Individuals Without a Diagnosis
  • PDD-NOS
  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Congenital (Genetic) Disorders
  • ADHD
  • Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders

At Qualife, we set aside personal bias and recognize that each family is unique and has different values. Family culture is dynamic and there is no “one-size-fits-all”. For us here at Qualife, we aim to provide a new perspective, not to pass judgement or to tell you how to parent. YOU are the best parent for your child and YOU are the expert on your family. You and your family are worthy of respect and deserve to have a support system that walks alongside you in your journey.

Our confidentiality practices ensure that what happens in your home, stays there. Often, we have found that parents and caregivers worry, are hesitant bringing someone into their home to work on behavior concerns. At Qualife we accept you exactly where you are and we will share the love and respect for the home you have created.

Who We Are

Qualife has a qualified team of professionals that make providing families services a priority. We are a family of individuals that have different strengths that make each other better when working together.

Executive Director: Sophia Mandilas-Lambert, M.Ed., BCBA

Born in Buffalo, NY, to a cobbler and an occupational therapist, Sophia has been involved in working with children and individuals with disabilities her entire life, and knows how to get her hands dirty. She lived in Houston, TX while finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Houston, and worked for three years at a pediatric rehabilitation clinic. She then pursued her Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati while working as a case-carrying Behavior Consultant for four and a half years. During this time, her mentors and the families she worked with had such a positive and life-changing impact that she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Sophia lives in North Austin with her husband James and their dog, Maverick. She enjoys hiking, gardening, karaoke, playing around in the kitchen, and going on adventures.

Why Private Practice?

Qualife wants to ensure that our families receive the best quality of care.

When it comes to working with families, we have learned that flexibility is extremely important. We work with our families to provide services when it works for them.

With private practice, confidentiality and privacy is at its best. Qualife adheres to HIPPA standards and the information that you give to us remains secure.

At Qualife, you will be working exclusively with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). That means we do not provide Registered Behavior Technicians or one-on-one therapists without credentials. So, your family will not work with a college student that needs a side job, or inexperienced and untrained individuals. YOU and whoever you want to include in your team will be empowered, receiving training and nurturing your child along with the BCBA. This ensures that your child receives the highest quality of care that reaches beyond scheduled therapy hours.

We also provide unique services that may not be an option with larger companies. Qualife provides online options for consultations and supervision. Take a look at our “Services” page to get more information.

Collaboration with your family and other service providers is a feature of Qualife. When given permission, we can work in partnership with doctors, other therapists of different modalities, school teachers and IEP teams, after-school programs, daycares, nannies, and babysitters. This ability helps us to create consistency across environments with the people that are privileged enough to spend time with your child.

According to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, behavior analysts must remain up-to-date with current research in the field. At Qualife, we take this seriously and participate in continuing education regularly. We tailor our services to adhere to current research and provide the most up-to-date services possible.

As Qualife has an individualized, whole-person approach, respect is regarded as one of our core values. We want to understand what is important TO YOU, not just what we think is important FOR you. Respect for your child, your family, your support system, other service providers, and respect for you, the primary caregiver, is what we strive for in every interaction.
